Three heritage trails that include 66 historical and culturally-important buildings, one historical mining route, and a general store transformed into a cultural and community centre make our area of the Eastern Townships a site worth seeing!
When you travel the Townships Trail, you’ll discover a new way of visiting the Eastern Townships. The Trail highlights the natural and man-made heritage of the area thanks to a 418-kilometre marked tourist route. It crosses 31 municipalities and proposes stops at 27 destinations and eight nearby attractions. All along the route, The Friends of the Townships Trail will enhance your unique adventure.
The Eastern Townships are renowned for its traces of British and American heritage. Under this theme, the Townships Trail invites you to follow in the footsteps of the first settlers of the area: Americans, Loyalists, Scots, and the Irish who moved here during the 18th and 19th centuries.
